Briscoe, Pawlowski join Rahal Letterman Lannigan IndyCar program
Rahal Letterman Lanigan’s busy offseason of talent acquisition has continued, with the hiring of race-winning IndyCar Series driver and former PREMA Racing sporting director Ryan Briscoe and race engineer Mike Pawlowski for its three-car program.
For Briscoe, the task at hand is coaching RLL’s drivers, and newcomer Mick Schumacher in particular, who will see most tracks for the first time during his rookie season while learning the art of oval racing. Briscoe made his way to IndyCar after spending most of his career on the same European open-wheel path as Schumacher, and over time made ovals his specialty – one that included earning pole position for the Indianapolis 500 for Team Penske – during a distinguished career.
The well-traveled Pawlowski has worked across IndyCar’s best teams and most recently served as Kyle Larson’s race engineer with Arrow McLaren before landing at RLL as Schumacher's race engineer.
"Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing has the foundation, infrastructure and commitment,” said RLL President Jay Frye. “We have made multiple, impactful strategic additions this off season, the latest being Ryan and Mike as we position our IndyCar program to compete at a high level on a weekly basis."
