Honda clinches 12th IndyCar manufacturers’ crown
Before Alex Palou wrapped up the drivers’ title, Honda captured its 12th IndyCar Series manufacturers’ championship on Sunday at the Milwaukee Mile, with two races left to run.
The accomplishment came after rival Chevrolet finished first through fourth in Race 2, but with a sizable championship lead in hand, Palou’s run to fifth place in the No. 10 Chip Ganassi Racing Honda was enough to seal Honda’s latest manufacturer triumph.
"Massive congratulations to the brilliant men and women at HRC on winning the IndyCar manufacturers' championship…again!” said Honda Racing Corporation President David Salters after taking back-to-back titles for the brand. “We are extremely proud to race for Honda and delighted to further add to Honda's racing history. I salute and admire every single person at Honda Racing Corporation USA, working as a world class team.
“Our efforts, skills and tenacity have produced another dominant season. A huge thank you to all of our superb teams and drivers who have all contributed to this stand out achievement. Simply – The Power of Dreams!"
