PERFECTMATCH MOTORSPORTS NOSTALGIA NITRO FUNNY CAR TEAM REVEAL
Rod and Jill Fazekas are pleased to announce the completion of their match racing masterpiece and the reveal of their nostalgia nitro funny cars’ monikers. Rod will be behind the wheel of the 1967 Chevy Nova bodied car named Nut Job and his wife, Jill, will be driving the 1971 Ford Mustang bodied car named Short Fuse.
“This is our crowning achievement. Rod and I have worked side-by-side to build something very special together. We affectionately refer to the cars as our ‘kids,’ because we have poured every ounce of heart and soul into their creation. Now, it’s time to put air in their lungs and fire in their veins,” stated Jill.
The Nova and Mustang were meticulously hand-built by Mr. & Mrs. Fazekas, in their personal shop, utilizing Rods' extraordinary fabrication skills and state-of-the-art components. They also performed extensive ground-up restorations of the team hauler and trailer, with the assistance of Jill’s Father, Denny and the Mohler family. Both cars feature AJPE supercharged nitromethane-burning Hemi engines. The match racing duo will thrill fans with dry-hops and very long burnouts, just as the 1970's funny car stars did. Larry Williams transformed Rod & Jill's vision into paint schemes that are nostalgic with a modern twist. Afterward, they were hand-painted by the talented Chuck Buckler of Chuck B. Designs, who added his magic touch, using Ivan Mejias’ USA Auto Supply Inc products.
