Next-Level Performance Tech Unveiled: Inside JMS Daytona’s Innovation-Driven Approach
In a powerful installment of EPARTRADE’s “Race Industry Now” webinar series, industry veterans Chris Johnson, CEO and Product Designer at JMS Daytona, and Frank Kondas, National Sales Manager, took center stage to unveil the inner workings and advanced capabilities behind JMS Performance Group, Daytona Sensors, and Daytona Twin Tec. The session was hosted by racing media legend Jeff Hammond from SiriusXM, Ch. 90, Late Shift.
Performance-Driven DNA
At the heart of JMS Daytona’s product philosophy lies a commitment to performance, precision, and real-world results. Johnson kicked off the webinar with a breakdown of JMS’s engineering principles: “Our team designs every component with one goal in mind — extracting the highest possible performance through smarter control and integration.”
Smart Ignition & Engine Control
The webinar dove into Daytona Sensors’ cutting-edge ignition systems, including their programmable ignition boxes and traction control modules. “What makes our products different,” Johnson explained, “is the combination of high-resolution tuning and intuitive user control. Racers can truly fine-tune their setup for changing track conditions — and see the results immediately.”
Frank Kondas elaborated on real-world use cases from top racing teams. “From Pro Street to NHRA to grassroots drag racers, we’re enabling serious horsepower gains and better reliability by allowing better combustion control. Our customers see the difference — not just on the dyno, but at the finish line.”
Twin Tec’s Legacy of Innovation
The discussion also spotlighted the legacy of Daytona Twin Tec, known for pushing the envelope in high-performance Harley-Davidson and V-Twin motorcycle tuning. “We’re proud of the legacy we’ve built in the V-Twin space,” Johnson said, “and we’re continuing to innovate with wideband closed-loop tuning and CAN-based integration.”
Data-Driven Results
Johnson and Kondas emphasized the importance of logging and analytics for optimal performance. JMS’s technology supports high-speed data acquisition, allowing racers to track ignition timing, fuel delivery, and sensor behavior in real-time.
“We don’t believe in guesswork,” Johnson noted. “If you’re serious about winning, the data has to lead your decisions.”
From the Track to the Street
While rooted in racing, the technology showcased also extends to high-performance street applications. JMS’s plug-and-play solutions are helping builders and tuners unlock new levels of drivability, emissions compliance, and performance consistency — all without compromising reliability.
Final Thoughts
As the session wrapped up, Jeff Hammond summed it up perfectly: “This is what innovation looks like — racers building tools for racers. You guys are not just suppliers; you’re performance partners.”
