New-look 2026 EKO Acropolis Rally Route revealed
Revealed this morning (25 February), the 2026 edition will span the Attica, Peloponnese and Central Greece regions and take in a mix of old, returning and new stages totaling more than 320km.
Beginning with a super special stage on Thursday night in Athens, crews and vehicles will be shipped from the Port of Corinth to Itea for the beginning of Friday action, with the ship acting as parc ferme in an absolutely unique feature on the itinerary. Crews will also have the option to remain onboard the ship overnight.
This choice utilises Greece's coastline and maritime routes, enabling a direct and efficient connection between the competitive sections in Attica, the Peloponnese, and Central Greece, allowing for a cleaner sporting route without the time and spatial constraints imposed by an exclusively road-based transfer.
Friday then sees the first full day of action with fan favourite Bauxites opening proceedings while the next stage and the longest of the rally, Parnassos Mt, might look familiar to some. The first 19.28 kilometres follow part of the Drosohori stage last used in 2009, but the remaining 10.77km section is entirely new.
Run in 2025, Stiri returns for two runs on Friday, and crews will tackle the classic test Thiva to complete the day's action.

Returning for the first time since 2013, Ghymno will run as the first stage on each of Saturday’s loops albeit in the opposite direction to its previous iteration with 17 downhill bends bends in the final six kilometres. Kefalari is also back for the first time since 2013.
Other highlights of Saturday include Menalo Mt and Kolines. Menalo Mt will be run twice during the day, starting on the road connecting Vytina and Alonistaina, passing through the scenic plateaus of Arpakoti, Kapeli, and Rouhi.
Kolines begins just before the village of the same name and dissects the Skiritida forest, a distinctive area of chestnut trees, black pine, and fir, creating a unique natural environment with a narrow, technical route.
A new-look Loutraki stage, almost double the length of the previous Loutraki stage features twice on Sunday, including for the all-important rally-ending Wolf Power Stage. Also back is another fan favourite Aghii Theodori in a condensed version for two runs.
Upon the announcement of the route, Alternate Minister of Sports, Giannis Vroutsis, said: “The EKO Acropolis Rally is an event with a strong international presence, highlighting Greece as a destination for major sporting occasions.
"This year’s design, featuring new special stages and the innovative sea transfer of the crews, utilises our country’s unique characteristics and strengthens the bond between different regions through an event of global visibility."
