About Kelvin Fu

Kelvin Fu is the vice president of Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US), where he is responsible for Honda's North American racing programs, including the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the NTT INDYCAR SERIES.

Fu works with HRC US president David Salters on both the current running of the Honda motorsports programs, as well as the future direction for Honda in racing.

Kelvin Fu joined HRC US, then Honda Performance Development (HPD) in 2015, managing chassis design, aerodynamics and the performance engineering group. He was made director of programs in 2020 before assuming the VP role in 2021.

Prior to joining Honda, Fu's background was primarily in aerospace engineering. Following his undergrad and masters at the University of Michigan in mechanical engineering, a PhD and post-doc at University of California, Berkeley, and a post-doc at University of Wisconsin–Madison, Fu moved to LA to join the military defense and aerospace company HR Textron.

At HR Textron, Fu served as an R&D engineer, ascending through the role of product manager before moving to ITT Aerospace—where he took on the role of director of engineering.

In Fu's 10 years with Honda Racing Corporation USA, the company has scored four IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship manufacturers' titles, five NTT INDYCAR SERIES manufacturers' championships, and six victories in the Indianapolis 500.
