F1 In Schools USA 2024 National Finals To Be Held In Motorsport Capital, Charlotte, NC
• Over 60 students aged 10 – 19 will compete at the two-day event, to be held April 11th – 12th at the Hilton Charlotte Airport Convention Center.
• The national competition marks an exciting return to in-person events following a four-year hiatus.
• The top teams in the competition will secure a place at the prestigious Aramco F1 in Schools 2024 World Finals.
Known for its illustrious motorsport heritage, Charlotte, North Carolina, is set to make for a fitting host of the F1 in Schools USA National Finals, April 11th – 12th as the official education challenge of F1 returns for its first in-person event in the US since 2019
Renowned for its ability to find the future engineers of the sport, F1 in Schools requires participants to design, make, and race miniature F1 cars, and this spring’s event will see teams compete over a two-day period while they are assessed across a variety of areas - including car speed, engineering quality, brand identity and verbal presentation skills. The top-performing teams will secure a place at the Aramco F1 in Schools 2024 World Finals; the global stage of the competition which is held annually alongside an international F1 Grand Prix.
One of the first countries to implement its own F1 in Schools programme following its initial launch in the UK in 2000, the USA has an extensive history in the competition, with US teams competing in every F1 in Schools World Finals since the global stage of the challenge was introduced in 2004. Historically a high-performing country, nine US teams have achieved a place on the World Finals podium to date, and hopes are raised for 2024 to be the year in which this figure becomes ten.
