World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) sanctioning body launches

Businessman Don Scott, the former partner at Central Illinois Dragway in Havana, Illinois, has announced the new World Drag Racing Alliance (WDRA) sanctioning body for drag racing.

Scott Gardner, the multi-track owner and former president of the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) from 2013 to 2016, will serve as a consultant to help secure track commitments for 2023. 

As part of the announcement, a Track Advisory Council has been formed to assist in the support of this grassroots sanctioning body. Members include Jason Peterson of US 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan; Royce Miller of Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland; Carl Blanton of Mo-Kan Dragway in Asbury, Missouri; and Jeff Miles of Darlington Dragway in Hartsville, South Carolina.

More details will be announced at a later date.
