Racing at Mountain Creek Speedway put on pause

Due to the unforeseen circumstances with Catawba County zoning, there will be no racing this weekend at Mountain Creek Speedway. The staff and management was notified on Friday, October 6 that they must cease operations immediately. As of right now events are on pause until further notice.

“It’s unfortunate, but it seems like a few tracks in the area are going through this.” Said Speedway communications, Director, Derek Pernesiglio. “Right now, we are trying to cooperate with the county and follow all the proper procedures in an effort to get the gates, reopened” The track is hopeful they may be able to continue and complete the 2023 season. Track owner and promoter. Adam Stewart was reached for comment: “When the track is able to file an appeal, the staff will make its best effort to complete the year and fill in the dates lost.”
