Mobil 1 to serve as primary sponsor for Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing at Le Mans
Mobil 1 will serve as the primary sponsor for Cadillac Wayne Taylor Racing in the 93rd annual 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the American manufacturer announced today.
The No. 101 Cadillac WTR V-Series.R will feature a blue livery, not unlike the one worn by the No. 10 WTR Cadillac in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, but featuring splashes of white and the Mobil 1 logo along the sides of the car.
The new livery will feature on a brand-new Cadillac V-Series.R chassis (#023) which had been shaken down last week at the Putnam Park Road Course in Indiana and will race for the first time in Le Mans. Ricky and Jordan Taylor will drive the No. 101 WTR Cadillac alongside Filipe Albuquerque, to mark the team's debut at the biggest endurance sports car race of the year.
“Le Mans is the ultimate proving ground in motorsport, and we’re proud to support Cadillac’s ambitions through our continued technical partnership,” said Tony Esposito, Strategic Global Alliance Manager of parent company ExxonMobil. “This new livery reflects what our work with Cadillac is all about – performance, passion and pushing boundaries. We’re thrilled to see it come to life on track at Le Mans, where our legacy in motorsport continues.”
Mobil 1 has been an associate sponsor for all of Cadillac Racing's top-tier prototype teams, including Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA in the FIA World Endurance Championship, and Cadillac Whelen (Action Express Racing) in IMSA - which ran a special Mobil 1 livery at this year's Twelve Hours of Sebring.
