Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Names Michael Good as president
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum has announced that its Board of Directors unanimously selected Michael Good as the new president of the Museum. Good will officially begin his duties on Feb. 2.
Good comes to the Museum from Performance Racing Industry (PRI), where he has served as president since 2024. In this role, he revitalized the PRI Trade Show, driving record year growth in attendance, exhibitor engagement, and sponsorship revenue. He was also responsible for creating new revenue streams through the PRI Membership Program and engaging new audiences by expanding the organization’s storytelling on digital platforms.
“Michael is a results-driven leader with a proven ability to strengthen organizations, expand revenue, and execute at a high level,” said Chuck Jones, Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum Board Chair. “The Board selected him because he brings the strategic discipline and operational rigor required to advance the Museum’s long-term mission and business objectives. His leadership will accelerate our growth trajectory and ensure the Museum continues to operate with the excellence and ambition this institution demands.”
A proven leader with over 25 years of experience, Good has held executive leadership roles at global companies. Prior to joining PRI, Good served as president and CEO of Dynamat, Inc., where he expanded product offerings and produced back-to-back record revenue years. Good also had stints at FinishMaster, Inc., Stericycle, and Walker Information.
“I am excited to step into the role of president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and to help steward its incredible collection and stories,” said Good. “Living in Indianapolis for more than 40 years has given me a deep appreciation for what the Indianapolis Motor Speedway represents to this city and to motorsports worldwide. I look forward to collaborating with our team and supporters to honor the past while shaping a dynamic future for the Museum.”
As president, Good will oversee its strategic growth and daily operations. The Museum re-opened to the public on April 2, 2025 following a major renovation and a successful inaugural capital campaign, and has since seen record crowds and international acclaim. Good will spearhead the next phase of the Museum’s campaign, with a previously announced new restoration and event facility set to begin construction this year.
The hiring of Good is the result of a nationwide search led by Kittleman and Associates, in conjunction with a search committee comprised of board members. Interim President Kirk Hendrix will assist during the transition, providing Good with insight and guidance based on his six months in the role.
Good, a self-described car nut, grew up in the automotive space, leading to the racing enthusiast he is today. His passion for racing and growth in the industry, coupled with his executive leadership experiences, positions him well to lead the Museum into the future.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is a separate non-profit entity from Indianapolis Motor Speedway, responsible for its own fundraising and revenue generation. Since re-opening, the Museum has welcomed visitors from around the world and launched its highly successful education program, offering field trips, family programming and learning opportunities for all ages. The Museum also achieved local, national, and international awards recognition for the renovation, including being named “Museum of the Year.”
Beyond the track, Good has served on and continues to serve on numerous boards of nonprofit organizations. Good, his wife, Heather, and their family reside in Westfield, Ind.
