Ford Performance launches NHRA Contingency Program to support racers

Ford Performance has announced the return of its NHRA Contingency Program for 2025, reinforcing its commitment to grassroots and professional drag racers campaigning Ford-powered vehicles in NHRA drag racing categories across the country.

The program will once again support Ford racers in Mission Foods NHRA Drag Racing Series, Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Summit Racing Equipment Racing Series, and Class Racing Sportsman and heads-up categories, including the increasingly competitive Flexjet Factory Stock Showdown and the NHRA’s newest eliminator: Holley EFI Factory X . In both categories, Ford's Cobra Jet Mustangs—powered by factory-backed technology—will be eligible for payouts through the contingency program, along with other Ford-powered entries in select NHRA classes.

The 2025 Ford Performance NHRA Contingency Program officially launches this weekend at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, where Ford-powered teams will display Ford decals and begin earning contingency rewards for their performance on the track.

To qualify for Ford Performance Contingency Awards, racers must run an eligible vehicle with Ford power, properly display Ford Performance decals on both sides of the car, and submit their NHRA Contingency sheet with verification of the decals.

Details on eligible categories, payout levels, and decal requirements will be available through NHRA’s official contingency portal: NHRA.com/Competition/Contingency.

The 2025 NHRA season marks an exciting time for Ford racers, especially with the rise of Holley EFI Factory X—NHRA’s modern take on factory-style Pro Stock racing. Ford Performance’s support ensures that racers investing in high-performance Cobra Jet and Ford powertrain combinations are rewarded for bringing Blue Oval horsepower to the winner’s circle.
