Dumarey to acquire Alpine Racing F1 engineering site in Viry-Châtillon
Dumarey and Renault have signed an agreement for Dumarey Group to acquire Alpine Racing SAS in Viry-Châtillon in France. The deal includes the site’s teams and the tangible and intangible assets required for its operations, with all employees expected to transfer to Dumarey Group, subject to completion of the transaction.
The proposed acquisition aims to secure the long-term future of Alpine Racing SAS’s operations and expertise while protecting jobs. It would also enable the team to apply its Formula 1 engine expertise to support other racing teams in the future.
Following completion of the transaction, Alpine Racing SAS is expected to operate under the Dumarey brand, ownership and management.
Guido Dumarey, chairman and founder of Dumarey Group, said, “The Viry-Châtillon site has built a strong reputation for advanced engineering and innovation. We see considerable potential in combining its highly skilled teams and technical capabilities with Dumarey’s entrepreneurial culture and diversified industrial footprint. Our ambition is to preserve and further develop this exceptional engineering expertise while creating new opportunities for opportunities.”
Axel Plasse, VP of Alpine Tech, added, “This transaction represents a strong and coherent opportunity to secure and further develop the expertise of the Viry-Châtillon site. It opens up new prospects for employees and for the engineering business. This development is a recognition of the site’s longstanding motorsport expertise, particularly in Formula 1.”
The Alpine Tech’s Viry-Châtillon site has more than four decades of Formula 1 development experience, as well as recognized expertise in hybrid and electric propulsion systems, simulation, software and testing.
Dumarey Group plans to expand into motorsport by strengthening its engineering capabilities in high-performance powertrain development, electrification and advanced testing. The proposed acquisition of Alpine Racing SAS would support this strategy, with Dumarey citing the team’s expertise and potential to drive innovation across the automotive, aerospace and industrial sectors.
The proposal was presented at an extraordinary Alpine Racing SAS Works Council meeting on October 22, 2026. Completion is subject to the legally required employee consultation process and relevant regulatory approvals.
