Annual Motor State Challenge
Three days of Pro-Touring fun! July 20-22, 2023
An annual three-day Pro-Touring event, the Motor State Challenge brings together as many as 100 drivers from across the US and Canada to compete for fun and bragging rights. Drivers can compete in standard and manufacturer Vintage and Late Model classes, as well as the QA1 #goDRIVEit class, which is designed for participants who drive their vehicle to the event, race it, then drive it home. It also features the unscored/untimed Touring class designed for those wanting the on-track experience without the competitive pressure.
The 15th annual Motor State Challenge will be held July 20-22, 2023! Thursday will kick off with driver check-in at Lane Automotive, in Watervliet, followed by a cruise through scenic Southwest Michigan, and ending with dinner at Weko Beach, Bridgman, with amazing BBQ by Cooking Channel-featured The Pit Stop BBQ. On Friday, drivers will compete in the timed road course event at Gingerman Raceway, in South Haven. Saturday will feature a spirited Autocross event on the test track at Tire Rack in South Bend!
A perennial driver favorite, the Motor State Challenge has become a “must do” event for Pro-Touring drivers from across the US and Canada. When the Motor State Challenge introduced the #goDRIVEit class, sponsored by QA1, it was designed to honor the origins of Pro-Touring racing, when drivers often raced their daily drivers at informal weekend events. In the two years since its debut, this class, specially designed for drivers who want to drive their vehicles to the track, race them, then drive them home, has added a new level of fun and excitement to the event.
