Della Penna Next Gen MotorSports Foundation is a 501c-3 not for profit that was created this year by Michelle Della Penna, daughter of John Della Penna, a former race car driver and IndyCar team owner and legend. John wanted to contribute to diversifying the future of the motorsports industry by providing girls from underserved communities with the opportunity to learn more about the motorsports industry and consider being a part of its future... whether as a driver, pit crew member or engineer/developer working on equipment.

Thanks to the Foundation honoring John's legacy, there will be a broad program that includes outreach to underserved communities, attendance at races with behind-the-scenes tours and interviews with women leaders in the industry as well as the opportunity to learn how to kart and apply for a 12 month fellowship to prepare for racing. Longer term the Foundation will offer fellowships for girls interested in the STEM aspects of the motorsports industry with hands-on training and internships. These could be in the form of in-kind donations of goods or services, or financial contributions.
