Northern's Pulse Width Modulator (PWM) will give your brushed fan the best in cooling efficiency! Traditional brushed fans have two speeds: on and off. With a PWM, you have the advantage of a "soft start" and the fans operating at the speed needed to do the required cooling based on the temperature sensor reading. When we say "soft start", it means you avoid any damaging amp spike when starting up a fan. It eliminates the high current in-rush, hence no idle pull down or overloaded connections.
