Toto Wolff collects the MIA Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Motorsport Industry
Toto Wolff was last night presented with the Motorsport Industry Association’s most prestigious personal Award, by MIA Honorary President, The Rt Hon Lord Astor of Hever PC DL, during their annual Summer Reception. 200 motorsport business and political leaders were present to applaud his contribution to the motorsport industry.
This Award, from the motorsport and high-performance engineering industry’s international trade body, recognises outstanding personal contribution to the industry. Previous winners Ross Brawn OBE, Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart, Sir Frank Williams, Adrian Newey OBE are amongst many others.
Toto arrived in the UK in 2009 to join Williams F1 before moving, in 2013, to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team where he has enjoyed exceptional success. By the end of the 2021 season, the Team had achieved a record eight Formula One World Constructors’ Championships and seven consecutive Formula One World Drivers’ Championships, setting new standards of excellence.
Thousands of jobs and millions of pounds of investment in R&D and production have been influenced by the success which the Mercedes-AMG team, based in Brackley, brings to the UK’s Motorsport Valley.
